Name: | Galan fon Fabre [ Guy Cecil / soıpɹɐפ ɐıpɹɐlıɐפ ] |
---|---|
Location: | Baticul, Kimlasca-Lanvaldear |
Enter Guy Cecil. Having infiltrated the House Fabre on a mission of revenge, Guy was unexpectedly put into an extremely difficult position: at age fourteen, Duke Fabre made to adopt him due all the physical similarities to his real son. (The hair was easily fixed with a fonic dye, resistant to fading from water or time.) Guy was unable to refuse for risk of igniting suspicion; after all, what servant boy would ever turn down being dumped into the lap of luxury? Duke Fabre's macabre sense of humor led him to renaming Guy "Galan fon Fabre" after the extinguished flame of a noble house he had doused himself during the Hod War. Guy's plan of revenge only grew stronger, forced to playact as the son of the man who had massacred his entire family. The discovery of the small, amnesiac Luke made things even more complicated, as Guy was forced to treat him as the little brother he'd always had all while planning Luke's death.
As in a history more popularly known, Guy eventually allowed his dreams of revenge to simmer in deference to genuine feelings for the young fon Fabre. Because of Luke's confinement to the manor, Guy was allowed near-total freedom in whatever he wished to do. While much of his time was spent educating and befriending Luke, he also kept to the streets of Baticul, where he blended in with his former identity of a servant of House Fabre. Life was a constant balancing act between his conferrences with Van, his hatred of Duke Fabre, and his fondness for Luke. When Luke disappeared, he volunteered to locate his little brother without hesitation. Duke Fabre considered Galan valuable and talented enough to make the trip, hoping he might return his even-more valuable Luke to the manor.
After saving Luke during God-Generals' the assault on the Tartarus, Guy managed to explain the situation to Luke before he spilled the beans — having one known Kimlascan noble in Malkuth territory was already trouble, no need to make it two — and the party (Luke, Tear, Saphir, Guy and Ion) continued on to St. Binah. Difficulties in returning to Baticul presented themselves most notably when the hostage situation in Choral Castle came to a head: Arietta the Wild acted on orders given by Asch the Bloody, meanwhile Sync the Tempest and Jade the Necromancer conducted a spate of unknown tests on Luke. In recovering him, Guy managed to get his hands on the fon disc containing the tests' data and glimpsed a look at Sync's true face. Continuing on to Baticul (even when being chased by Sync and struck with a curse slot) was relatively simple after all that.
